Blog everyday in June. #10

This everyday blogging thing is HARD. I'm trying to play catch up without posting all of them in one go. So if you're still with me, well done!

Today's post is titled 5 Beauty Secrets, so these are mine!

Eyelash curlers are the work of angels. Seriously.
Before last year I had only owned one pair of eyelash curlers, they cost me £1 in Primark. They were in pretty bad shape, battered and bruised from being in the bottom of my make up bag.
I'd seen many a beauty blogger talk about the Shu Uemura lash curlers with such praise, I brought them on a whim. A very expensive whim, but it was worth it. The first time I used them I fell in love.
They make such a difference to my eyes, it's insane. If you've never tried eyelash curlers, I suggest you go get you some!

Makeup sponges (Specifically the RT Miracle Complexion Sponge)
I used to be a flat foundation brush kinda gal; and while they're good, they tend to apply too much product and streak like crazy. I didn't want to shell out on the Beauty Blender so I brought the Real Techniques dupe(?). It blends the foundation in to the skin like no other. I think it has something to do with the dampness, it gets rid of all the streaks and evens out the application. I tend to use it to apply my sheerer foundations and then just bounce it over top of my thicker ones.

Face masks
A definite must for me! I have dry, blemish prone skin, so it really benefits from a lit of light exfoliation and lashings of moisture. Face masks like Love Lettuce from Lush are perfect because they're made from natural ingredients and contain some exfoliating bits, but offer up a decent amount of moisture for my skin. I also really like just plain clay masks, loads of brands do them, and they're excellent for brightening and deep cleaning the skin. I use them a lot when I'm breaking out.

Warming up mascara
Okay this sounds weird, but this is something I've been doing for a while now, it it's really made a different in the application of my mascara. When I sit down to do my make up before I do anything I pop my chosen mascara in my cleavage. (I KNOW. WHAT?!) I go about my business, and when I'm ready to apply my mascara it's warmish and more liquidy. The heat from your body warms up the product in the tube making it less solid, and it in turn applies less clumpy and easier.

Liquid Highlighters
My actual saviour throughout the winter months. I'm not the only one who suffers with dull skin in the winter, and when I got the BECCA Shimmering Skin Perfectors for christmas I was ready to get my glow on. These little babies are SO versatile, you can use them under or over foundation, or mix them in with your usual base. They give a beautiful subtle glow that screams healthy, not greasy.
Nice and easy way to fake that glow babes.

Not so secret anymore, eh? ;)

Check out the other bloggers doing the everyday challenge. (Probably better than I am, lol)
